YEWA LAND STUDENTS' COMPETITION

THE 3-DAY YEWALAND STUDENTS’ COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF YEWA STUDENTS (NAYES)


Following an official invitation received to participate in a three-day competition for Yewa students in secondary schools, organized by the National Association of Yewa Students (NAYES), our school participated actively in the event. The competition comprised inter-school speech, quiz, and various games.

In preparation for the programme, the school mobilized six (6) students to represent in the different activities as scheduled by the organizers.

Day One Activities

The first day of the competition featured the arrival and registration of participating schools. Later in the evening, a quiz competition and an inter-school speech contest were held. The theme of the speech competition was “Yewa Land: Our Pride, Our Future.”

Day Two Activities

The second day was dedicated to inter-school games, which included Scrabble, dart, football, tug of war, and track events such as the 100-metre and 200-metre races.

In addition, a seminar was delivered by a representative of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Nigerian Police Force, as well as a representative of the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewa Land, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole, among other dignitaries.

In the evening of the second day, the students embarked on a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Correctional Service, where they were warmly received by CSC Afolabi Rahmon, Officer-in-Charge. This was followed by a social night, during which students engaged in various interactive and cultural activities.

Day Three Activities

The final day commenced with a recap and final round of the inter-school speech competition among the best three (3) schools, during which our school emerged as the overall winner, clinching the 1st position.

Further activities on the last day included goodwill messages and lectures delivered by an officer of the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Secretary of the Ipokia Local Government Youth Council, and a representative of the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele.

The event was concluded with the presentation of merit awards to outstanding students who emerged in various positions, as well as certificates of participation presented to all participating schools.


Positions Won by Students of Promising Generation School:

  • Inter-School Speech Competition – 1st Position
  • Quiz Competition – 1st Position
  • Scrabble Game – 2nd Position
  • 100m Female Race – 3rd Position

The school’s participation in the competition was impactful and commendable, contributing positively to the academic, social, and leadership development of the students.
